from Matthias Kopfermann (matthi@infodrom.north.de) i think it should be good to remind you that you can combine sounds using the performance. this way you can easily get totally amazing sounds. that is how you can do it: 1. switch to performance 2. press the midi -button 3. put -say- 4 patches to channel 1 or just take PR-B 27 All Bells and edit it! (it depends on how many different patches you use, if every patch uses 4 parts then you have not many voices left. {64/4/3 = ~5 voices left} but that could be sufficient, especially if you are in a life-performance or if you have other synthies that produce the rest. (or: is there still someone who playes along with real instruments :-)?) 4. okay, now it is your time to choose patches and combine them. i have done some wonderful sounds by just combining presets. when i had the impression that it could be good to have a different mailing list from the already existing jv80 mailing list back in jan 95 i argued that one could combine patches within the performance because of the 64 voices that the jv-1080 has got. (try that on a jv-80, a k2000 or some other < 64 synth :-) you soon get out of voices). someone mailed me the other day asking about the programming of organ-sounds. i told him to combine preset-patches, perhaps to switch off some tones of a patch and save that as a new patch that allows 64 voices (not too many patches allow 64 voices per se!) perhaps that may help someone else.
